Iceland [colour]

I often find it substantially more difficult to convey what my eyes and mind see in a colour image, compared to the perceived simplicity of a monochrome photograph. After many years of shooting film and digital in black and white, my eyes have been trained to see the final image in terms of light, shade and contrast, and to avoid the temptation — or perhaps the distraction — of colour. In my view, there are, however, rare occasions when colour adds something essential to an image. This recent trip to Iceland offered plenty of opportunities to explore and test that. This two-part collection includes both black and white (in a separate project) and colour images. Expect lots of glaciers, basalt cliffs and volcanic plains. This project is being updated regularly with new images.
